Gimme Shelter
Three years ago, on the island of Milos where I live with my family,I had the pleasure to discover and record through my camera lens the opening of a secret refuge which was built by the islanders during World War 2 by command of the German occupiers.
Seventy years later, with the grandchildren of those people who built it,we revealed a place charged with war memories .
Every summer the place turns into a gallery hosting remarkable art exhibitions : 2013-2014 the “Artspirators group, with whom I collaborated, presented their work Refuge Project /Refuge Project II Testimonials. In the first room of the refuge there is the permanent exhibition of my photographic narration of this place.
